Furstenau statement on latest COVID-19 numbers

October 21, 2020

SHAWNIGAN LAKE B.C. – Sonia Furstenau, leader of the B.C. Greens, released the following statement on the latest COVID-19 update. The number of cases reached above 200 for the first time. There is also the first reported case of an outbreak in a school.

“I know these new figures and the news of an outbreak in a school is stressful for all of us to hear, and I want to reaffirm my commitment to putting British Columbians health and safety above all else,” said Furstenau.

“All three parties demonstrated this spring that we can put politics aside and work together to keep British Columbians safe. Whatever the shape of the next government, this will remain the B.C. Greens approach.

“We will work with both other parties across the aisle to ensure people and businesses have the support that they need, that our public schools are fully resourced, and that we are investing in a recovery that makes our province more resilient and sustainable in the long-term.”
