NELSON, BC – Sonia Furstenau, MLA for Cowichan Valley, will visit Nelson and Ymir as part of her campaign tour to be the next leader of the BC Green Party. Furstenau is also holding events in Kelowna, Vernon and Kamloops this week and next.
“I am excited to meet with people in Nelson and Ymir about my plans for the future of the province,” said Furstenau.
“In the last three years, The BC Greens have made real structural changes in our province. We have banned corporate and union donations, reformed the lobbying industry, introduced the Clean BC climate plan and passed legislation to strengthen environmental protections through the environmental assessments and professional governance acts. But there remains much work to be done. My campaign is about charting a path for the future of the province: one that is more sustainable, equitable and hopeful. I look forward to hearing from people in the Kootenays about their priorities for their communities.”
